Adding an Investment
Step-by-step guide to adding a new investment and configuring its cashflow details.
How to add an investment
- Click Investments in the sidebar
- Click the + Add Investment button in the top right
- Fill in the required fields
- Name — a descriptive label (e.g., "123 Oak St Rental" or "XYZ Mortgage Note")
- Type — select the investment type (see Investment Types article)
- Amount — the total invested capital
- Monthly Payment — what you pay toward this investment each month (debt payments, premiums, etc.)
- Cashflow — net monthly income this investment generates after all expenses
- Expenses — monthly operating costs (repairs, property management, insurance)
- Interest Rate — APR if this is a debt-backed investment
- Start Date / Maturity Date — term tracking
- Transaction Link — link to Paperstac or your servicer portal
- Funding Source — how you funded it (personal cash, policy loan, HELOC)

Click Save and the investment immediately appears in your portfolio and updates your dashboard cashflow totals.
